Center For Food Action – The
second Sunday of each month at the 10:30 service we gather food to be delivered to the Center for Food Action. The food we
deliver helps the CFA fight hunger and stock their food pantries for those in need in Bergen County.
Walk In Dinner – Twice a year
members of St. Luke’s make a delicious dinner and then go to Hackensack to serve the work of our hands and the bounty
God has given us to our brothers and sister in need.
St. Cecelia’s Shelter in Englewood - On evenings January we offer a welcoming spirit to the families who use St. Cecelia’s Shelter
in Englewood. You can volunteer to purchase food, prepare a meal or help out by being an overnight volunteer at the shelter.
YCS Christmas Tree/Woman’s Rights Center
Christmas Program -
During the Holiday season, two Christmas Trees stands in the parish hall. They are filled
with tags listing gift items needed for the less fortunate in our surrounding communities. Donations are given to these two
wonderful Social Services Organizations.
Heifer Project – The youth
of St. Luke’s has taken on as their year round mission to help raise funds for the Heifer project. This relief agency’s
mission is to end world hunger and poverty and care for the earth by of giving families a source of food rather than short-term
relief caught on and has continued for over 60 years. Today, millions of families in 128 countries have been given the gifts
of self-reliance and hope..
Food For the Poor – Annually
St. Luke’s invites a speaker from Food for the Poor to our parish to share the Good News about their ministry of spiritually
renewal and to invite participation in providing food, housing, health care, education, water projects, micro-enterprise development
assistance and emergency relief to the poorest of the poor throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
